Cherry and heart cheese strudel recipe. A must-try dessert of the season!

Don’t let summer pass without trying this cherry strudel recipe! The combination of sweet cottage cheese, tart cherries and crispy pie crust is delicious. You have to forget about the pastry shop in the corner and make this food common, because you can also use compote or frozen cherries in the recipe, which you can find all year round. Or you can replace cherries with raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, apricots, whatever you like.

How to make cherry strudel: ingredients, preparation method


  • 500 grams of fresh pitted cherries
  • 250 grams of sweet cheese
  • 55 grams of sugar
  • 60 grams of melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons of organic lemon peel
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 8 thin slices of bread
  • 35 grams of almond flakes
  • powdered sugar (for decoration)

Preparation process:

Step 1 – preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Mix sweet cheese with sugar, lemon peel and lemon juice in a large bowl, until you get a composition. Add the cherries and mix again with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula.

Step 2 – put the baking sheet on the baking sheet. Brush each piece of bread with melted butter, all over. Place the papers on top of each other. Place the cheese and cherry mixture on the last sheet, in the middle. Cut the sides of the bread lengthwise with a pizza slicer (as shown in the video below).

Then, “build” the strudel on each piece of paper, one by one. Place the strudel in a cake or muffin pan and brush the top with melted butter, then sprinkle the flaked almonds on top.

Step 3 – put the strudel pan in the preheated oven. Leave to bake for about 30 minutes, until the strudel acquires a golden color. Remove the pan from the oven and let the strudel cool at room temperature, about 30 minutes.

Step 4 – remove the strudel from the pan and sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Cut it into suitable slices and enjoy this delicious dessert with your loved ones.
